If you're looking for a deal, KEEP LOOKING!
Review Date: 5/27/2010 Reviewer: Anonymous
I have lived at Villa Encanto for 6 months. Fortunately, I opted for a short lease because I could not get out of here soon enough! The management was friendly, but rather incompetent and unhelpful. When I moved in, I was told that everything would be functional or fixed with top priority. Go figure that three weeks later I had to chew out the maintenance supervisor because things were still not fixed. After that, everything was fine. When I say fine, I mean that they fixed the shower nozzle, but to get hot water you had to turn it to “C” and to get cold water you had to turn it to “H”. There were several issues with pests and cockroaches. Fortunately, they have a program that you can get your apartment sprayed every week. However, it took about 1-2 months of weekly sprayings for the roaches to disappear. I received a notice that my apartment was to be “bug bombed” and all of my belongings out of every shelf, cupboard, closet, drawer, etc. and covered and sanitized upon my return to my fumigated apartment. To my surprise (not!) the bombing was inefficient and had to be completed again, as I was still finding roaches. I even took the curtosey to bring them into management’s office personally to see what could be done. When I was told that there was nothing they could do to help compensate or sympathize with the issues I was having, that’s when I knew it was time to move. I spent as little time as possible here during my 6-month stay and it wasn’t all bad. But the bad definitely outweighed the good. Management needs to get a lesson in doing their job. Oh, and the best part is when trying to move out, I had to call them to make sure they were doing the inspection (aka – their job) and when I did they informed me of a bunch of ridiculous fines for fees and cleanings. But when I asked where or in what room, they had no evidence or response. I thought this apartment was a deal, but I quickly found out that it wasn’t that great of a deal, has poor management, and is old and decaying and full of pest infestation. I highly recommend looking elsewhere before deciding to look at Villa Encanto. |
