Apartment Review for Allegro - Phoenix, AZ

We lived in this apartment complex for 4 1/2 yrs and for the first 2 1/2yrs it was good. The complex was then sold and Alliance was no longer managing and MEB took over. The new management is horrible. Maintance orders are ignored for weeks, the grounds are covered in animal waste, the pools and spas are frequently broken, the gates were broke for almost six months, and the Manager is rude and unconcerned. The last straw was that a robberry and shooting took place in the apartment next door. The parties invloved were not actually residents but people staying there with the unit rented under someone elses name. There was drug traffic prior to the shooting and when we warned the office they blew it off and told us we had to notify the police, but they couldn't do anything. Two weeks later the shooting occurred. To make it worse the management sent out a letter that was a complete lie about what actually occurred (to not alarm the residents, the manager said). They claimed the incident happened off the property and didn't involve any residents. They left out the robbery, the shooting at the building and the fact the people staying there were never approved to live there. The actual lease holder was not evicted. We no longer felt safe and felt we had to move. We witnessed the whole thing from our bedroom window! Over the past 9 yrs of renting I have never seen such a rude, disorganized, and crooked management group. There are nicer apartments for the same price range in the area. Do not rent here!!!!!
